The Maemo Record is an independent reference for Maemo, the Debian based Linux platform that Nokia shipped on its internet tablets and the N900, and for the lineage that followed it. It is not Nokia, not Jolla, not maemo.org, and not the original Maemo Freak blog. It hosts no firmware, no ROMs, and no repackaged applications. What it holds is the record itself: the releases, the hardware, the software, and the communities that kept the work going after Nokia stepped back.

The platform section names every major Maemo release and the device it shipped on, then turns to Maemo Leste, the actively maintained open source continuation. The devices section lists the Nokia internet tablets in order, from the 770 through the 800 line to the 900 line, and carries the N9, the MeeGo device that ended the Nokia Linux line. Each device page states its screen, its input, and its place in the sequence.

The software section covers the applications people actually installed on a Maemo device: the Ovi Store, maps and GPS navigation, the built in media player, the browsers, the Debian repository layers, and the messaging story that stops where certification did. The successors section follows MeeGo, the joint Nokia Intel operating system, through to Sailfish OS, the Jolla Phone, the C2 Community Phone, and the supported Sony Xperia models. The community section holds the forum record: the developers, testers, translators, and users who built the open software stack around Nokia's platform.
