Maemo was the Debian-based Linux Nokia shipped on its internet tablets and on the N900, and although Nokia cancelled it twice the same codebase still reaches devices you can buy, by way of MeeGo, Mer and Sailfish OS.

This is an independent reference to that whole line: the four tablets and the one phone, the releases each of them ran, the software people actually installed, and what happened after 2011. It is written for someone who owned one of these devices, or who followed a link here that was posted fifteen years ago.

Independent. The Maemo Record is not Nokia, not Jolla, not maemo.org, and not the Maemo Freak blog that used this address between 2009 and 2015. It carries no firmware, no ROMs and no repackaged applications, and no prices or second-hand listings. Where an article from the old site is still linked from elsewhere on the web, that address now serves the page about the subject it covered, and the site index lists every one of them.
