According to folks over at ElectricPig, the world’s number two browser, is rapidly rolling out its plans to invade the mobile space and is trying to get latest version of its mobile browser in shape to finally leave beta status in December.
In recent weeks, Mozilla has released a number of enhancements, new features, significantly improved performance, new logo and replace the code name (Fennec) with a well known Firefox brand.
Mozilla’s user-experience lead for Fennec, Madhava Enros, told to ElectricPig that final version of the browser will bring an improved overall user experience and drop the beta tag within the next couple of weeks.
In addition to the mobile OS war, there's also a strong battle on the web browser side for leadership, and considering that Firefox has lot of users and when it comes time to choose a mobile browser they’ll most probably choose the portable version of its favorite desktop solution.
To be completely honest with you, I am an Internet Explorer user. As a matter of fact I have been since I started browsing the Internet, and I have found no compelling reason to change. I am using the Avant and Maxton shells that put the Firefox to shame but situation with mobile browser is a bit different and I would like to test it as soon as possible.
