UK Operators Aren't Too Happy About Skype Client On Nokia Smartphones

According to a recent article on TechRadar, the UK operators already expressed its disapproval regarding the availability of Skype on Nokia smartphones since it could threatens their existing revenue streams, especially because it allows users to make free long-distance calls, according to TechRadar.

It appears that the carrier sees the application as breaking the rules, through offering users the possibility of sending voice calls through data, and that it considers blocking the solution for customers!

Nokia Denies Reports About AT&T's Variant Of Nokia N900!

n900_att_tmLiterally dozens of news sites and numerous prominent bloggers have picked up on the rumor that world’s largest maker of mobile phones plans to announce a WCDMA 850/1900/2100 MHz variant of its first Linux based device which would support AT&T's 3G network, but apparently it was only the result of a fanboy's mind as company has confirmed today that Nokia N900 won't be coming to the AT&T anytime soon!!

So everybody should now calm down as this is nothing but a rumor caused by anonymous tipster who claimed to have spoken with Nokia spokesman Joseph Gallo about Nokia's hottest smartphone and that he confirmed the existence of AT&T's 3G network friendly (850/1900/2100 MHz) version of the Nokia N900!

Nokia has reacted quickly and strongly insists that story reported by The Nokia Blog and others were untrue, adding that "There have been no announcements regarding a version that supports the 850/1900/2100MHz bands,".

Nokia WILL ALLOW Carrier Customization Of The N900

denied_tmThere has been a pretty shocking and viral statement about Nokia not allowing carriers to customize the N900, Nokia's upcoming uberdevice. As we'd even reported here based on a report from Reuters, it was thought that Nokia would not allow the carrier to molest the Maemo monster in any way, a sort of stand for the consumer and the N900's open nature.

This brought a shock to the entire community. Nokia had been almost entirely locked out of the US market because of bad relations with the carrier cartels, and has been feverishly working to improve that standing by working closer with them. With this news, carriers may not carry the N9.... .. .
